Happy Dragon Year

Back to office after CNY break.
As usual, dragging myself out of bed, pretend to be sick and 'pity' face.
Fatty knows it all. HAHA

Both Fatty and myself was down with cough and sore throat few days before CNY and yet to recover.
Been sleeping like fat pig for 2 days. Blame the cough syrup or the doctor !!
Hot weather on our way to Tangkak and Malacca and definitely the junks food eaten during CNY.

Our beloved cough syrup
Spot the difference between adult and children. HAHA

Reunion dinner with Tee's family and Tangkak visiting for the first time  :)

When The Girls Get Together

A504 - a medium size condo unit in Desa Pesona, Petaling Jaya. Nine girls under one roof. We shared the fun, laughs, ups and downs together. Yearly tradition - reunion dinner for CNY. Ying Ker Lou, The Gardens - our 2012 reunion venue.

First visit here. Interior was average. Just like other normal Chinese restaurant. Expensive. One thing myself and Bean noticed that all the waiters and waitresses are foreigner except the captain. Took awhile for waiter/waitress to take our order. Service was slow and lacking. We had to wave few times to get their attention. Few items on the menu was not available. I think they should be informed beforehand and not repeatedly return to customer.

Kuan didn't join us due to work commitment. And we have more members joining year by year. I guess, we are not able to fit into one big table in the future if everyone comes with spouse and children. Looking forward to the day.

Let's back to what we had for dinner. (I am more interested in food)

Salmon Yee Sang RM 68
We ordered Large Yee Sang for 14 of us. We didn't finish the whole portion. I personally don't really fancy Yee Sang. And nothing much to describe when the salmon pieces are nothing great.

Steam Fish Head with Black Bean and Soya Bean Sauce RM 39
Cheap doesn't always mean good. If compared to other menu, rather reasonable price for this dish. Meat was quite dry and taste tad hard.

Lettuce Oyster Sauce RM 27
Simplest dish of the night. Normal and average lettuce that can be found easily.

Crispy Belly Pork RM 50

Overpriced for this small portion of pork belly. Not worth the money we paid.

Braised Basil Chicken with Three Cups Sauce RM 59

Combination of cooking oil, soya sauce and rice wine. Quite tasty and the meat was tender. One of the few dishes that I remember and will reorder if I ever go for second visit.

Preserved Egg with Bean Curd RM 23
I like the combination of bean curd and preserved egg. Another simply dish and yet tastes good. Back to basics :)

Hakka Yam Abacus RM 19
Chewy texture made of mashed yam paste. I think we could get something similar with cheaper price.

Stewed Pork Gut with White Pepper RM 34

There are some dishes that I did not try :

Stuffed Bittergourd Hakka Style RM 25
I don't eat bittergourd. No special review on this particular dish but I didn't heard anything good about it :p

Preserved Mustard Vegetable Rice Rolls RM 8

Ho Po Vegetable Dumplings RM 8 & Hakka Carrot Dumplings RM 8

Lastly, our expensive tea of the night.

Pu Er Tea RM 4.50 x 14 = RM 63

Emily had Hakka Pounded Tea (white rice) RM 15.90. No photo taken.

Overall, first experience dining there was not a good one. Poor food quality, slow service and too expensive.

Some group photos.

Pork Lover's Paradise

Belly Good.
Located at Dataran Mentari.
Heard of the restaurant earlier, in fact just a stone's throw away from Infopro.
We finally got a chance to try it out last Friday. Spontaneous and random. That was pretty cool.

Met Feo Man at Old Town first before Fatty finish his work.
Seems like everyone (oh well... 3 of us ONLY) appetite has increased.
Must be pork's lover or never had before. LOL
Was known as Wendy's Bistro earlier.
Simple set up with about 15 tables and was empty when we arrived about 6.15pm.
But please make an advance reservation for weekend visit.

Bacon Spaghetti

We had Bacon Spaghetti as 'appetizer'. We think that the bacon and spaghetti was too salty. FM even suggested if we could add some water to tone down the taste. Haha.
Wasn't too sure if the bacon that cause the salty taste.

Mixed platter - rib + belly

Mixed platter is the combination of grilled pork rib and pork belly.
It comes with homemade mashed potatoes and coleslaw.
The rib was tender but no so meaty.
And the pork belly wins for the great combination of FAT and juicy meat.
We shared the platter and decided to go for another plate of pork belly. *ghost eating*

Pork Belly

Plate of Pork Belly concludes our dinner.
Too much fat on Friday night. Satisfying meal with additional kilos home. :)
Will definitely come back for the best pork in town.

p/s : My little car's battery died on Friday night after dinner. Friday the 13th  bad luck.

Friday 13th

Random post
Hoping the clock to fast forward. Leaving office on Friday is always the best
Meeting up Wil to collect wedding photos later *excited*
And weekend is here... in about few hours.
Bukit Gasing in the morning, nasi lemak Uptown for lunch, Midvalley to grab some stuff, Denai Alam for show units and house warming at Ivan's at night. Quite a long list for tomorrow. Whatever. It's Saturday!
Sunday is going to be a lil' pack too. KLCC and Japanese cuisine perhaps.

Counting down for the holidays. (crap. I am feeling stress about job already)

Unlucky Day

Dropped my purse.
Lost cash.
And I'm still not recovering from sore throat + feverish package.

What makes me sad - Went to Pyramid for lunch. Didn't realize my purse fell out from the car while taking the parking ticket. I usually open my door instead of window. Found parking a level up. And that point, I couldn't find my purse. WTF. I was panicked. Searched all over. Run down to CP4 when I came in. Talked to the customer care person from the help button. Disappointed and I almost burst.

I have replaced my IC for 4 times. I can't afford to lose it again! And I just withdraw RM400. Credit cards, ATM cards and driving license. OMG. I prayed non stop hoping for security to call. Rush to concierge opposite Haagen Dasz in the mall. Gave my information again. And guess what, someone return my purse to the other concierge near Starbucks. And again, I pray and pray. I need my purse so badly.

Sigh. Cash gone but other documents still intact. I tried to calm. Tried very hard not to cry. Lost my appetite and totally not in the mood to talk. WY tried to calm me down. Bought me cake for lunch and his silly jokes to make me smile. Frustrated, angry and emo. I just couldn't help myself. Haiz. I should be grateful that person return my purse.

Number and name left to the customer service was all fake. I can't stop cursing that person. Ok. Now I feel better. I know it is not too bad after all. Think it positive and I'm doing a charity! Glad that I'm not pack with office work, or else I might be mad now!

Last bit of 2011!

First day of working in 2012.
Spent first half reading news and emails, JobStreet.com, forum and Facebook.
What a boring day! And here I am.
Been staying home for 10 days due to HP closure. Dragging myself of out bed this morning. Had weird dreams last weekend. Weird and scary I guess.

New Year celebration was awesome and fun. Third year of celebration with Fatty and more to look forward.

Celebrated Yee Jie's birthday with steamboat at FM's place on Friday night.
Overloaded with food, mahjong and XBOX.
Body sore the next day. But we really enjoyed that night!

As planned earlier, we are going to Doubletree Hotel for overnight on New Year eve.
The day started with little emo - stupid act but I just can't get out of my head! Ignorance is the best medicine.
Breakfast at Jin Xuan dimsum Kuchai.

Not in the mood for talking.
Those that know me well know what to do if I remain silent.
Continue with nap after dimsum. Must be freaking tired after xbox night.
Woke up and packed.
Lunch at Daidomon Japanese Restaurant. Food was good especially the grilled prawns.

What happened next? I misplaced the Doubletree voucher. WTF!
Up and down from the lobby to parking. Called Daidomon with bad news. We then drove to GE Mall and guess what, the envelope was on the floor at the parking! Fuh. What a day.

We were given Excutive room at smoking area. Nothing can be changed just to accept it.
After all, we don't pay for the room. Check out the glass walled bathroom~!

 weighing scale in the bathroom!!!!!!!!!!!

Waited for the guys in the hotel and proceed to Pavilion for movie.
Sherlock Homes to end our 2011 movie list. Movie was good as expected. Especially after the big disappointment on The Darkest Hour!

Photo session around Pavilion. Let me rephrase, photo session with United Buddy Bears. LOL

One of very few group photo :)

We didn't secure any venue for dinner since Ben's doesn't take any reservation. Settled with Takahashi Cafe at Tokyo Street. Another Japanese cuisine of the day. But the dinner here was below expectation. Attracted by the food display and interior design. Never come back for second visit.

Salmon Pasta

Fish & Chip

Scallops & Prawn Pizza

Ochado - a new Japanese concept milk tea chain in town. Chatime still the best so far.

 Grass Jelly Milk Tea

Football match in the hotel before countdown.

Walked for less than 20minutes from hotel to KLCC. The crowd was crazy. Oh well, my very first experience countdown in a HUGE crowd.
We were on the wrong spot and didn't get to see the fireworks clearly.
There are plenty of parents came along with the babies. WTH. The babies are too young and uncomfortable to be in the crowd.

Short walk in the hotel next day before check out. Love the relaxing morning with a cup of Nescafe in the room. And I like the complimentary Chocolate chip cookie!

breakfast with movie in the room

Ended our New Year celebration with light lunch at Ficelle!

Green Tea Tiramisu

~Happy New Year~
